About SICAS

The Swiss Institute for Computer Assisted Surgery SICAS was launched in 2011 with the support of the Canton Jura, ETH Zurich and the Universities of Bern and Basel. SICAS has emerged from the National Centre of Competence in Research NCCR Co-Me hosted by ETH Zurich. After 12 years of interdisciplinary research and development, the NCCR Co-Me has ended in June 2013. Read more.


SICAS was established to continue the success story of the Co-Me research network as an innovation platform for Computer Assisted and Image Guided Surgery.

The goals of SICAS are to
·         maintain and expand the network of scientists, engineers, clinicians and entrepreneurs
·         organize and support courses for surgeons
·         initiate collaboration projects and support clinical and university partners
·         be the national access point for Computer Assisted Surgery in Switzerland.
